Maria Pelosi has recently joined Surval as a Mathematics teacher. After graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1987 in BSc Mathematics for Business Analysis, Maria decided that the teaching profession was perfect for her. Realising that it could encompass all her life passions including her love of travel, experiencing different cultures, working with teenagers and the satisfaction of seeing them grow and reach their potential.
After travelling the world Maria embarked on her teaching career in Scotland achieving a PGCE Mathematics and Computer Science and teaching in a variety of schools there and for many years was Head of Department in Computer Science. During this time Maria taught new student teachers from Stirling University and supported them during school placements.
One of the main reasons Maria chose teaching as a career was the ability to teach anywhere in the world and in 1999 this dream came true: teaching voluntarily in Swaziland for one year. Now teaching in Switzerland her dream continues.
