At Surval Montreux, charity work is not just an activity—it is a core value that shapes our community. This term, our students have embraced the spirit of giving and kindness, participating in a variety of charitable initiatives that reflect the Surval ethos of compassion and support. From mental health awareness to fundraising for those in need, the girls have worked tirelessly to make a positive impact.
One of the highlights of the term was Hello Yellow Day, where Survalians joined the global celebration of World Mental Health Day. Wearing yellow to raise awareness, the students took part in a thoughtful presentation by the Charity Committee, emphasizing the importance of supporting mental health. The girls created cards filled with positive messages to share with the community, reinforcing the idea that "it's okay not to be okay." This day not only raised awareness but also fostered a sense of belonging and solidarity within Surval.
In addition to supporting mental health, our students led a successful fundraising campaign for Zoe4Life, a Swiss children's cancer charity. The charity committee organized yellow ribbon and cookie stalls, as well as participated in a fun run, raising over 1,000 CHF for the cause. This campaign demonstrated the power of teamwork and the commitment of our students to making a real difference.
When the devastating floods hit Valencia, the Surval community responded with immediate action. Understanding the urgency of the situation, the girls rallied together to raise funds to support the affected families. Their quick response exemplified Surval's global awareness and commitment to living in the moment, always ready to help when needed most. This effort further highlighted the school’s core values—acting with compassion and making a difference, no matter where the need arises.
The festive spirit continued as our students visited Le Byron, an elderly care home, to spread holiday cheer by singing Christmas carols and giving small gifts. The smiles they brought to the residents’ faces were a testament to the warmth and kindness that defines Surval.
Finally, through the Action Christmas Package initiative, the girls gathered essentials like toiletries, toys, and notebooks to distribute to families in need across Eastern Europe. Their fundraising efforts, including a raffle, bingo, and friendship bracelet sales, raised 500 CHF to support this meaningful cause, as well as local charities.
At Surval, charity work is not just about fundraising—it's about nurturing empathy, fostering community, and making a difference in the world. We are proud of our students for their commitment to these causes and look forward to continuing this tradition of giving back.
